A former soldier with a passion for photography and history, Thierry de Villeneuve la Colette has been collecting photographs of the Provence Landings for over 10 years, particularly those taken by war photographers and videographers aboard Allied ships and the 1st French Army.

To mark the 80th anniversary of Operation Dragoon, he obtained cameras identical to those used at the time and reproduced the images in the exact location where they were taken in 1944.

The result is stunning.
This exhibition, for which he has given all rights of use and reproduction to the town of Sainte-Maxime free of charge, will be his first. At the same time, he is working on similar projects in Marseille and La Croix-Valmer. New shots at sea will be organised with the Municipal Police's Nautical Brigade.
