A port between modernity & traditions

For a reception and personalised port services, the port of Sainte-Maxime is an ideal place! Historical, it is an important symbol of the town since the 18th century.

From trade to pleasure, the history of a representative place

In the eighteenth century, Sainte-Maxime was a modest port for loading goods from the forest of the Maures. Wine, oil, cork, wood, grains and vegetables were loaded onto the "tartanes", boats capable of transporting cargo from one port to another at a lower cost.

At the end of the 1930s, the commercial port gave way to the marina. Magnified in 1972, the port of Sainte-Maxime can welcome today boats from 5 to 25 meters and has 800 docking rings.

Located in the heart of the town, the port of Sainte-Maxime hosts 800 recreational yachts as well as about ten fishermen.

In a bid to modernise and enhance its port, the town of Sainte-Maxime is part of an environmental guidance approach to obtain the label "Clean Ports". This desire to preserve the environment is combined with conservation of the living and cultural heritage by acquiring the label "Patrimonial Heritage Boat" for "La Belle Flamande" attached to the port of Sainte-Maxime.
