Description
Israeli artist Sharon Eyal, a leading figure in the international choreography scene, is making her debut at Le Carré with an introspective piece written for eight dancers.
A work that transcends her personal experience of loss and finds, in the sophistication of her dance, an outlet with universal appeal.
Trained at Batsheva in Israel and now based in France with her company S-E-D, Sharon Eyal goes from one success to the next. Following the piece *Into the Hairy*, created with her collaborator Gai Behar, *Delay the Sadness* captivates audiences with its unique physical language—bodies arched to the extreme and raised on demi-pointe—its pale faces with lips painted red, and its movement, full of tension and restraint, which borrows from classical ballet to reinvent itself. Arabesques, jumps, and pirouettes give her stylized figures a whole new dimension! The alchemy between the collective movement and the expressive power of each performer reaches its peak as they convey loss and solitude… A parade of human emotions set in motion by a choreographer at the peak of her art, and set to music by Josef Laimon, whose original composition serves as a truly exquisite backdrop. From the waltz to electronic music and the religious chants of the British composer John Taverner, this journey through emotions is an experience to be savored in its entirety. Hypnotic.
SAX & SMOOTHNESS EVENING following the performance: Extend the evening to the sound of a lively saxophone and improvise a few dance steps...
