Beneath the sea’s surface lie veritable underwater meadows: Posidonia seagrass beds. Often mistaken for seaweed, this plant – emblematic of the Mediterranean Sea – does not flower every year. When it does, it produces small, olive-like fruits. After several months of ripening, these fruits detach, float with the currents and then release their seeds, ready to take root if the conditions are right.
In Sainte-Maxime, local producers, craftspeople and shopkeepers contribute to the richness and identity of our region. By choosing to buy locally, you support the local economy whilst discovering quality products, authentic flavours and the skills that bring our destination to life.
