Description
True to its reputation for excellence, the Paris National Opera Junior Ballet presents an eclectic program that reflects its talent, with classical and neoclassical dance in all its forms serving as the highlight.
This is evident in four choreographies marked by exceptional virtuosity, liveliness, and musicality.
From George Balanchine to José Martinez, from Julian Nicosia to Anna Hop, anything is possible for the dancers of the Paris National Opera’s Junior Ballet! Take, for example, the challenge of performing *Allegro Brillante*, created in 1956 by George Balanchine to a score by Tchaikovsky. A masterful work imbued with “exaggerated Russian romanticism.” For his first ballet created for the company, *Mi Favorita*, José Martinez, Director of Dance at the Paris National Opera, sought to inject a touch of humor into classical dance to reveal it in a different, more spontaneous light, and to give his interpretation greater freedom. A flamboyant creation drawing on his previous experiences as a dancer… Dressed in black and gold Chanel costumes, the Paris National Opera Junior Ballet brings Julian Nicosia’s piece, *Eternel Rift*, to life—conceived as “a shared momentum in which bodies strive to separate while remaining linked by an invisible thread.” Finally, Polish dancer and choreographer Anna Hop, a leading figure on the international scene, will unveil her new creation…
