Luc Provensal Beach

Ajouter aux favoris

Sainte-Maxime is one of the few seaside towns to boast a proper beach right in the town centre. Facing south, it offers breathtaking views of Saint-Tropez and its iconic bell tower. Renamed Luc Provensal in 2022, it has been famous for over ten decades: people swim, sunbathe and have fun here.

A beach in the town centre

Since the early 20th century, with the rise in popularity of sea bathing, the beach in the centre of Sainte-Maxime has continued to bring joy to generations of visitors. Swimmers, sandcastle builders, the elegant figures of yesteryear and today’s sports enthusiasts have all passed through here, leaving behind precious memories that are deeply rooted in the hearts of both the locals and their loyal holidaymakers.

Easy to reach and ideally situated, Plage Luc Provensal is just a few minutes’ walk away.

Here, everything comes together to combine swimming, a leisurely stroll and summer fun: between dips in the sea, enjoy the shops in the town centre and the festive events that punctuate the season. And to make the experience last even longer, treat yourself to one of the beachfront terraces, where a gourmet break is a natural choice.

 Beach restaurants

On Luc Provensal Beach, a number of seaside establishments invite you to make the most of every moment. Between a dip in the sea and culinary delights, treat yourself to a break in these welcoming spots where relaxation blends with Mediterranean flavours.

To make the most of your visit, you can also hire sun loungers and parasols – perfect for settling down comfortably by the sea and soaking up the sun in peace and quiet.

Whether you’re sitting with your feet in the sand or on a terrace, these restaurants offer the ideal setting for a sunny lunch, a dinner at sunset or simply a relaxing moment over a drink with a view of the Mediterranean.

 Dogs allowed

Two areas along the town’s coastline are open to dogs all year round, namely:

  • the dog beach in the town centre: this is a section of the town centre beach situated opposite the Préconil bridge;
    the land area at Pointe des Sardinaux (except in July and August): this natural site (Sensitive Natural Area) is a meeting place for many dogs.
  • Owners must keep their dogs on a lead at all times and ensure they pick up after their pets, in order to maintain hygiene at these sites and ensure everyone can enjoy the area together. On the town centre beaches (with the exception of the area mentioned above), the Oursins, Nartelle and Garonnette beaches, and the southern tip of the Pointe des Sardinaux, dogs are prohibited all year round.

Guide dogs and assistance dogs, however, are permitted all year round on all beaches.
