Choosing sustainable transport to get to and around Sainte-Maxime means taking a practical step to help the environment whilst making the most of the scenery of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.

Getting around by bike

Cycling is also an excellent way to explore the area at your own pace.

Bike hire services are available in town. Sainte-Maxime has cycle facilities in the town centre as well as a seaside cycle path linking Plage de la Croisette to Saint-Tropez.

This pleasant, scenic route allows you to make the most of the Mediterranean coastline whilst travelling in an environmentally friendly way.

Cycling along the Var coastline: From Six-Fours-Les-Plages to Saint-Raphaël. The route passes through 20 municipalities in the Provence Méditerranée, Golfe de Saint-Tropez and Var Estérel regions, following the route of the former Provence railway line. Getting around town

To get around the town, the SimpliBus local transport network makes it easy to travel between neighbourhoods, beaches and the main attractions.

Convenient and accessible, it is an ideal solution for reducing car journeys and making daily travel easier.

Getting to Sainte-Maxime without a car

From the airport, there are several ways to get to Sainte-Maxime without a car:

  • You can take the train to Saint-Raphaël or Les Arcs–Draguignan stations, then continue by bus to your destination.
  • The Var Expressshuttle also serves the airport and runs at fixed times; however, you’ll need to book in advance as seats are limited.

These alternatives not only offer a practical and comfortable solution, but also help to reduce the use of private cars and lower the carbon footprint of your stay.

A responsible choice

Choosing sustainable transport in Sainte-Maxime is much more than just getting from A to B: it is a concrete step towards preserving air quality, reducing noise pollution and protecting the exceptional natural environment that makes this area so beautiful.

By prioritising walking, cycling or public transport, everyone contributes to a healthier environment, a more liveable town and the preservation of our natural heritage for future generations.

Electric vehicle charging points

To make getting around easier whilst promoting more sustainable transport, Sainte-Maxime is gradually expanding its network of electric vehicle charging points across the whole destination. This service is constantly evolving to ensure you can enjoy Sainte-Maxime to the full with complete peace of mind.
